The analysis by the Financial Agency (Fina) of the top 50 entrepreneurs by total revenue achieved in 2016, according to ownership forms, showed that entrepreneurs in the private sector achieved the highest total revenue, nearly 93 billion kuna.
The top 50 entrepreneurs in state ownership achieved 48.2 billion kuna in revenue, those in mixed ownership 47.2 billion kuna, and in cooperative ownership 1.16 billion kuna.

The top 50 entrepreneurs by total revenue in 2016 who were in state ownership employed 67,454 employees and achieved a net profit of 4.2 billion kuna. The average monthly net salary for these entrepreneurs was 6,935 kuna.
Of the total 50 companies in state ownership, the largest number is in the field of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, 26 percent. This is followed by transportation and storage, 24 percent, trade with 10 percent, and construction and water supply; wastewater removal, waste management, and environmental remediation activities with eight percent.
The highest revenue among entrepreneurs in state ownership was achieved by HEP, HEP – Distribution System Operator, and Zagrebački holding.
