The International Conference on Transport Law and Insurance Law INTRANSLAW Zagreb 2017 in its second edition in Zagreb brought together domestic and European experts in the field of transport and insurance under the common theme ‘Transport Law Towards the Future’.
Scientists, lawyers, representatives of regulatory agencies and the transport industry, as well as many others involved in transport in any way, discussed current topics in the field of transport and insurance.
The INTRANSLAW Zagreb 2017 conference attracted more than 200 visitors who during two days could listen to interesting lectures on current issues, innovations, challenges, and opportunities in the transport industry. Topics in the field of digitalization and new technologies in transport, the single market for transport services and issues of market competition, financing of ships and aircraft, shipbuilding, insurance of claims and enforcement in transport, insurance of transport risks, logistics and multimodal transport, competition in road passenger transport, the cyber future of maritime risks and insurance, alternative fuels in maritime transport, are just some of the topics discussed at the conference.

A particular interest was sparked by the lecture on the European Commission’s Program for Future Mobility in the EU delivered by Maja Bakran Marcich, Deputy Director-General at the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission (DG MOVE). Lectures were also held by distinguished speakers from across Europe such as Eric Louette, transport and logistics advisor at the French Ministry of Transport and the Ministry for Ecological and Solidarity Transition, prof.dr.sc. Nikolaus Herrmann, director of the German Federal Agency for Air Navigation Services, and Frans Vas Zoelen, director of the legal sector of the Port Authority of Rotterdam.
