Sloković: The Political Reckoning Has Begun, Todorić Is Not in Hiding

Attorney Jadranka Sloković, representing Ivica Todorić, stated on Monday that the arrest of former leaders of the Agrokor group marks the beginning of a political reckoning with Todorić, whom she said is not in hiding, even though he is not in Croatia.

Sloković told reporters outside the County Court in Zagreb that Todorić is not in hiding and that she cannot comment further on the case at this time.

When asked when Todorić might return to Croatia, Sloković said they will see how the proceedings unfold and what will happen next.

She did not respond to the question of whether she spoke with her client this morning, whose home police raided early in the morning.

On Monday morning, police began arresting former leaders of Agrokor who managed the company before it was taken over by a temporary administration, and according to the State Attorney’s Office, “investigations and searches” are ongoing for 15 individuals.

So far, according to available information, Ivan Crnjac, Piruška Canjuga, Ljerka Puljić, Tomislav Lučić, and Damir Kuštrak have been arrested. All of them were members of the management or supervisory board of the troubled group before the arrival of extraordinary government commissioner Ante Ramljak.
