The Slovenian government on Monday published documents related to the arbitration on the border with Croatia on its website, including the imagined border on land and at sea, and media in the neighboring country, citing unofficial sources, report that Prime Minister Miro Cerar will soon invite Croatian Prime Minister to continue the dialogue, but on the condition that the discussion is about the implementation of the arbitration decision.

According to the Slovenian Press Agency STA, Cerar advocates for the continuation of dialogue and will soon send an invitation to Croatian Prime Minister Plenković to meet, but with the warning that the continuation of dialogue is only possible regarding the implementation of the arbitration ruling, which Ljubljana considers binding for both sides.
According to information reported by Slovenian Radio, Cerar is ready for dialogue with the Croatian side “at a political and expert level” to make the land border “more viable” and practical than the one determined by arbitration, while for the Slovenian side, the maritime border is clear.
As reported by Slovenian media, the government has published a so-called “visualization” of the Slovenian-Croatian border on its website, based on maps prepared by the Slovenian Geological Institute according to the arbitration ruling. According to claims from sources in the government, as reported by the media, Slovenia’s position is that the maritime border is clear because the coordinates are clearly set, while regarding the land border, which is generally set according to the boundaries of cadastral municipalities, a “demarcation” in nature needs to be carried out, which cannot be done without cooperation with the Croatian side, so negotiations are necessary, which could take “several years.”
