We announce the most important events in Croatia for Thursday, October 12:

ZAGREB – Continuation of the 5th session of the Croatian Parliament (9:30 AM, Croatian Parliament, St. Mark’s Square 6).

ZAGREB – Meeting of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (10 AM, St. Mark’s Square 2). On the agenda, among other things, is the Proposal for a decision to initiate negotiations for the conclusion of a Collective Agreement for Science and Higher Education and the appointment of the negotiating committee of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, as well as the Proposal for a regulation amending the Regulation on the classification of job positions for police officers.

ZAGREB – Press conference of the Parliamentary Club Change Croatia, where it will be discussed how the new proposal of the Health Care Act protects solidarity, free, and accessible public health. The conference will feature MP Ivan Lovrinović, member of the working group for drafting the Health Care Act Marija Divić, on behalf of the Croatian Association of Primary Health Care Concessionaires Josip Rodić, Jozo Ezgeta, and Sanja Klajić Grotić (11 AM, Croatian Parliament, Ivan Kukuljević Hall, St. Mark’s Square 6).

BJELOVAR – Ceremonial send-off of the 1st Croatian contingent within the combat group led by the United States (HRVCON eFPBG – USA) to the Republic of Poland. The ceremonial send-off will be attended by the envoy of the President of the Republic of Croatia and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces General Mirko Šundov, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defense Damir Krstičević. A battery of self-propelled multiple rocket launchers is being sent to Poland in the combat group led by the USA (10 AM, Bilogora Barracks).

ZAGREB – Announcement of the verdict for the Secretary General of HNS Srećko Ferenčak and co-defendant Petar Turković, who have again rejected the charges in the “Nanbudo affair” with their defenses, for which they were previously convicted twice, but their sentences were overturned by the Supreme Court (1 PM, County Court, Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square 5).

Economy:

ZAGREB – Conference Day of Croatian Financial Institutions, organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and with partners Ministry of Finance, HANFA, HBOR, AZOP, and HAMAG BICRO. The event will be opened by HGK President Luka Burilović, economic advisor to the President of the Republic of Croatia Marko Jurčić, Assistant Minister of Finance Stipe Župan, and Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb Lajoš Žager (10:00 AM, Westin Hotel, Kršnjavoga 1).

ZAGREB – First Investment Forum on Health and Tourism in the Adriatic region, technically organized by Medical Group d.o.o, where projects from the health and tourism sectors will be presented, with resolved location-property-legal relations, spatially and urbanistically defined, and technologically set according to permitted contents and purposes (9:00 AM, Sheraton Hotel, Prince Borne Street 2).

OPATIJA – Round table “Energy Union – Opportunities and Challenges in Croatia” organized by the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Croatia and the Faculty of Law at the University of Rijeka. Panel speakers will consider the European Union’s Energy Union as a framework for implementing reforms. Key aspects of the Energy Union related to technological development, market competition, energy transition, opportunities for the economy, decarbonization, and the role of non-governmental organizations in creating and implementing Energy Union policies will be analyzed (10:30 AM, Jean Monnet Inter-University Center of Excellence, Vladimir Nazor 2).
