“DORH will deal with Ivica Todorić, but we are interested in where the responsibility of key institutions lies, due to whose inaction, inactivity, and irresponsibility we are where we are today,” said the president of Most, Božo Petrov, at a press conference in the Parliament.
His party colleague Miro Bulj reminded that he filed a criminal complaint against HNB and Hanfa on April 21. “I ask Cvitan and the State Attorney’s Office what has been done regarding those complaints. When will they publicly state what has been done and whether anything is being done? When will those who allowed the economic system to collapse be brought to justice, not because of one person, but also due to the system and the inactivity of DORH?” Bulj asked.
“If the governor of HNB claimed that our banks were too exposed to the Agrokor system, what has he done if he noticed that the Agrokor system continues to borrow and fulfills its obligations from such funds? What has been done to mitigate their exposure in general to all who can financially assist the system?” said Most representative Tomislav Panenić.
If according to the law HNB was supposed to inform Hanfa that the Agrokor system was too exposed to banks, what did Hanfa do if an increased intensity of borrowing through factoring was established, through promissory notes that companies from the Agrokor system sold in this way, Panenić added.
Nikola Grmoja asked HBOR whether all criteria for loan approval were respected despite the extremely negative assessment of the company’s operations, and whether HBOR would have approved another loan if Božo Petrov had not said – enough.
Petrov then directed a question to the Office for Large Taxpayers – why has that office not acted in accordance with its duties, while the Minister of Finance stated that they continuously perform oversight.
The Most Independent Lists demand answers from DORH, HNB, HABOR, Hanfa, and the Tax Administration because, as they stated, Croatia deserves the truth and an opportunity for a new beginning. All these institutions operate within the Council for Financial Stability, raising the question of how the Council operates.
“I understand that Agrokor is Todorić’s company, but are all key institutions in Croatia Todorić’s companies? Have all previous ministers and heads of institutions been Todorić’s managers?” Petrov asked.
