Jack Ma: Soon the labels will read ‘produced on the internet’

The founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma, claims that artificial intelligence will change the world, but emphasizes that this should not worry us. However, he believes that humanity needs to prepare for significant changes in the labor market, reports CNN.

– In the last 200 years, manufacturing has created jobs. But today, due to artificial intelligence and robots, manufacturing is no longer the main tool that creates jobs, said Jack Ma.

He stated that he believes the service industry will be the biggest driver of new job creation, and that we will no longer read ‘Made in China’ or ‘Made in America’ on labels, but ‘Made on the internet’.

However, Ma sees the main obstacle in the access to education that does not prepare young people for the reality they will face in the labor market in the future. He noted that, when it comes to manufacturing, machines will always do it better than humans, and managing human resources will place the greatest emphasis on imagination.

– New technology will destroy many jobs. But it will also create new jobs. The question is whether we are ready and if we have qualified workers for those new jobs, he warned.

However, he believes that we should not spread panic about a war between humans and machines, as he says that computers will never be better than humans when it comes to wisdom or love.

Jack Ma has a completely different view on AI than Elon Musk, who recently tweeted that AI will cause World War III as countries compete through technology.

Musk has long warned about the risks posed by AI. In August, he signed a letter asking the UN to ban the production of autonomous weapons.

– I am very optimistic about the future of technology. But we also need to be very, very careful. The first industrial revolution caused World War I, and the second industrial revolution caused World War II. Now a new industrial revolution is underway, Musk warned.
