In the first nine months of this year, 5,309 companies and crafts were opened through the Hitro.hr service, according to data from the Financial Agency (Fina), which estimates that around 7,080 companies or crafts could be established through this service this year, representing an 8 percent increase compared to last year.
The establishment of j.d.o.o. or so-called ‘companies for ten kuna’ was enabled in 2012 when amendments to the Companies Act came into force, and since then, j.d.o.o. companies have made up the majority of newly established legal entities through the Hitro.hr service.
According to Fina’s data, from January 1 to September 30, 2017, 198 crafts were opened and 1,927 limited liability companies (d.o.o.) were established, along with 3,184 simple limited liability companies (j.d.o.o.).

Thus, simple limited liability companies have the largest share of the total number of newly opened companies and crafts, nearly 60 percent, while the share of limited liability companies is 36.3 percent, and crafts only 3.7 percent.

Through this service for accelerated communication between citizens and business entities with government administration, 6,559 new business entities were opened in 2016, and ‘companies for ten kuna’ accounted for 62.4 percent (4,096) of the total number of newly established entities. Their share was slightly higher the previous year, as nearly 63 percent or 3,639 of the total 5,778 newly established companies and crafts were simple limited liability companies.

If the establishment continues at the same intensity as in the first nine months of this year, Fina predicts that approximately 7,080 companies and crafts could be established through the Hitro.hr service by the end of this year, which would represent an increase of 521 or 8 percent compared to 2016.
