The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County has been granted a non-repayable 3 million kuna from European funds for the improvement of primary healthcare on the Kvarner islands, which will be used to purchase diagnostic equipment and renovate island clinics, it was stated on Monday at a regular press conference in the county administration.
– The contract covers health centers on Krk, Lošinj, Cres, and Rab, said Deputy County Prefect Marko Boras Mandić.

Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, together with the Health Center, will secure 15 percent of the funds from its own sources, while 85 percent has been approved from EU funds. The funds will be used to purchase diagnostic equipment and renovate clinics to make healthcare services more accessible to islanders. The majority of the funds will be spent on purchasing X-ray devices, ultrasound devices, and installing a lift for persons with disabilities, he emphasized.
The Head of Education and Training Edita Stilin stated at the press conference that this month marks the 390th anniversary of the First Croatian Gymnasium in Sušak in Rijeka and the First Rijeka Croatian Gymnasium, and announced the opening of the newly renovated space of the Sušak Gymnasium and the start of operations in one shift on October 26.

Deputy County Prefect Petar Mamula announced the celebration of 300 years of Orthodoxy in Rijeka from October 14 to 29, under the auspices of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
