From the Croatian Laborists – Labor Party on Tuesday assessed the revised financial report for the Agrokor group as shocking and called on the relevant institutions to act as soon as possible on the criminal complaints, investigate and determine those responsible for the largest scandal since Croatia’s independence, and they hope for appropriate punishment for those responsible and that they will not end up ‘peeling potatoes’.
“More than two decades of irresponsible management of the company, crony capitalism, and the connection between politics and private capital have come due, but we hope that taxpayers will not bear the cost. We also expect that any potential job losses in the companies of the group will be minimized,” the Laborists stated.

At the same time, they welcomed the announced establishment of a parliamentary investigative committee for Agrokor “to clarify the political favors to former CEO Ivica Todorić,” expecting that no current or former state official or head of a state institution who might have knowledge of the scandal will be exempt from testimony before that body.
