Fans can vote for their favorites on the website RockHall.com. Five artists from the list chosen by the public enter the so-called ‘fans’ ballot’ category, which is then combined with the selection of the voting committee, which includes over 900 artists, music historians, and representatives of the music industry.
The final list will be announced in December, and the official induction ceremony will take place on April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio, where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located.
In April 2016, folk singer Joan Baez, grunge rock band Pearl Jam, ELO, Yes, Journey, and the late rapper Tupac Shakur were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
