Police inspector Antonio Gerovac is the new head of the National Police Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (PNUSKOK), confirmed the Police Directorate.
This is a national police office that directly conducts more complex criminal investigations into corruption and organized crime at the national level in close cooperation with Uskok, other state prosecutors, and other relevant state bodies.
It is responsible for criminal investigations conducted in the area of multiple police administrations or multiple countries, or where a joint international police investigation is required.

According to media reports, Gerovac became known to the wider public last year when the theft of money and gold from the headquarters of the Zagreb Criminal Police in Heinzelova Street was resolved, as well as the death of the Filipović sisters on the highway near Rijeka in 2006.
He also participated in the clarification of the war crime against Serbs in Osijek, for which Branimir Glavaš is being tried.
At the head of PNUSKOK, Gerovac replaced Svjetlana Harambašić, who was appointed head by former minister Vlaho Orepić in December of last year.
