Australia has ended the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared three years ago with 239 passengers and crew members, reports CNBC.
The national civil aviation agency stated in its final report that they have not come any closer to discovering what happened on the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, and Australian investigators have stated that the reasons for the disappearance will not be known until the aircraft is found.

At the end of the report, there is a message to the families of the missing passengers expressing regret that they were unable to determine the exact cause and location of the missing plane. The report also noted that this tragedy has resulted in the creation of better systems for tracking commercial flights.
The Boeing 777 disappeared from radar in March 2014, and the only evidence that could lead to solving the mystery are the aircraft’s wreckage in the Indian Ocean. The joint search involving Australia, China, and Malaysia was concluded in January of this year, and the Malaysian government announced that it would continue the search for the aircraft.
