Today in Croatia: Leader’s Export Club

We announce the most important events in Croatia for Monday, October 2:

ZAGREB – The Presidency and National Council of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) will meet (5 PM, Trg žrtava fašizma 4).

ZAGREB – Regional conference “Living in Two Shifts: Reconciling Work and Private Life” as part of a project funded by the REC (Rights, Equality and Citizenship) program of the European Commission, which focuses on the economic empowerment of women. The project is led by the Ombudsperson for Gender Equality of the Republic of Croatia. The conference consists of a round table “Redistribution of Responsibilities in Work and Private Life and Preconditions for Their Reconciliation”, a seminar “Is Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship One of the Opportunities for Aligning Work and Private Life (Advantages/Challenges)?” and a practical workshop “Gender-Sensitive Economic Policies and Gender Budgeting” (10 AM, Starogradska City Hall, Hall B, Ćirilometodska 5).

ZAGREB – Continuation of the 3rd session of the City Assembly of the City of Zagreb (9 AM, Old City Hall, Svetih Ćirila i Metoda 5/I, Hall ‘A’).

ZAGREB – Joint press conference of public service unions on the topic “Before Negotiations: Salaries in the Public Sector”. Union leaders will attend the conference (11 AM, Union Building, 1st floor, ‘Orion’ Hall, Florijana Andrašeca 18 a).

ZAGREB – The Croatian Association for Equal Parenting will hold a press conference to comment on the new draft proposal of the Family Law, which they believe undermines many rights and obligations of children and parents (9 AM, Jukić Law Office, Deželićeva 32).

KOPRIVNICA – The Agency for Vocational Education and Adult Education will organize the national educational campaign Lifelong Learning Week for the eleventh consecutive time, from October 2 to 8, under the slogan “Exercise Your Brain!” During the campaign, events will be held in all counties of Croatia, with the official opening on October 2 at the Public Open University in Koprivnica. This year’s campaign promoters are Ivica Kostelić, Gordan Kožulj, Blaženka Leib, and Maša Vidić (11 AM, Starogradska 1).

SPLIT – The international conference “Adriatic 2017 – Protecting the Adriatic Sea from Ship Pollution” begins, organized by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. It is held within the thematic week dedicated to protecting the sea from ship pollution, and will be officially opened by State Secretary for the Sea Maja Markovčić Kostelac (9:30 AM, Croatian Army Home, Poljudsko šetalište 1).

ECONOMY:

SLAVONSKI BROD – The Export Club will be held organized by the Lider weekly, which will include a round table “Fiscal Policy as an Instrument for Strengthening the Competitiveness of Croatian Exporters”. The Export Club will be attended by presidents and members of the management boards of Badel 1862, HBOR, Spider Group, Vetropack Straža, Šestan-Busch, Tehnix, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, INA, Dalekovod, HPB, Podravka, Kraš, etc. According to the organizer’s announcement, the Minister of Finance Zdravko Marić will participate in the Export Club (2 PM, Đuro Đaković Group, Mile Budaka 1).

KLENOVICA – The Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković, together with the Governor of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Zlatko Komadina and the Director of the County Port Authority of Novi Vinodolski Velimir Antić, will sign the Agreement on Joint Financing of the Second Phase of the Reconstruction of the Port of Klenovica in Klenovica (10 AM, premises of the Klenovica Local Committee, old school).
