Pucar: Podravka could be a leader in acquiring parts of Agrokor

Podravka could be a leader among companies that will acquire certain parts of Agrokor, Marin Pucar, the CEO of the Koprivnica company, responded to reporters at the Lider conference Day of Big Plans.

– When these processes occur, I advocate that companies with the greatest synergy and the greatest effect on the consolidation of the food industry should be the ones to integrate certain parts or certain companies and thereby increase competitiveness, especially the export of the Croatian economy, said Pucar.

Opportunities, dangers, and forecasts for the next year were discussed at the round table. The CEO of Croatian Post, Ivan Čulo, said he expects significant business growth, an investment wave of around 300 million kuna, system modernization, business digitalization, and every postal worker with a smartphone.

The CEO of RBA, Michael Georg Muller, spoke about macroeconomic indicators and stated that economic growth is a result of growth in the environment and that he sees growth in 2018 as well, but slowed down. The General Director of Renault Nissan Adriatic, Jean-Pierre Mesić, mentioned that they grew by 14 percent in Croatia this year, mainly due to the rent-a-car industry, and that next year they should reach 66 thousand cars sold.

The owner of Include, Ivan Mrvoš, mentioned problems such as the difficulty of obtaining investment loans and retaining quality staff who receive generous offers from abroad, while Boris Žgomba, the CEO of Uniline, noted that there is an infrastructure problem in tourism and that there is no major plan for tourism.
