We announce the most important events in Croatia for Tuesday, September 26:

KOPRIVNICA – The Ministry of Croatian Veterans and Podravka will sign a new Cooperation Agreement establishing collaboration in the realization of potential purchases of products from cooperatives of Croatian veterans for the needs of industrial processing by Podravka, for the period from 2018 to 2020 (2 PM, Podravka’s business building in Koprivnica). The agreement will be signed by the Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved and the CEO of Podravka Marin Pucar. Before the signing of the agreement, Minister Medved, the Prefect of Koprivnica-Križevci County Darko Koren, and the Mayor of Koprivnica Mišel Jakšić will pay tribute to fallen Croatian veterans by laying wreaths and lighting candles in front of the Monument to Croatian Freedom for veterans of the Homeland War (1:50 PM, Florijan Square).

ZAGREB – Signing of the Business Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and HS Produkt (2 PM, Ministry of the Interior, Ulica grada Vukovara 33). The subject of the agreement is cooperation in the testing and examination of weapons and police equipment. The first hundred rifles will be received by the Ministry of the Interior on October 15 and will be tested in four police administrations. After that, the delivery of a thousand rifles with proposed modifications is expected. The agreement will be signed by the Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović and the director of HS Produkt Željko Pavlin (At the MUP gate for security checks, arrival should be no later than 1:40 PM.)

ZAGREB – Meeting of the Presidency of the SDP (5 PM, Ibler Square 9).

ZAGREB – The Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić will hold a press conference on the topic “Acts of the Mayor” (12:30 PM, City Administration Building, Trg Stjepana Radića 1, Hall 272).

ZAGREB – The President of the Zagreb City Assembly Andrija Mikulić will hold a press conference (10:30 AM, Kaptol Hall, in the Old City Hall, Ulica sv. Ćirila i Metoda 5) where the upcoming session of the City Assembly of the City of Zagreb, which will be held on Thursday, will be discussed.

ZAGREB – Round table “Human Rights, Firefighting and Civil Protection: What Have We Learned in the Fire Season?”, organized by the Ombudsman Lore Vidović (10 AM to 1 PM, Croatian Parliament, Hall Ivana Mažuranića). Representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the State Administration for Protection and Rescue, the City of Split, the Croatian Firefighting Community, and the Association of Professional Firefighters of Croatia, as well as representatives from other state bodies and institutions, firefighting communities, regional and local units, associations, and others related to the field of firefighting and civil protection have confirmed their attendance.

ZAGREB – Presentation of the results of the competition for the professional development of doctors (pediatric specialists) and a valuable donation of the Therakos Cellex System device, which helps patients with hematological diseases, to KBC Zagreb (11 AM, premises of the Ana Rukavina Foundation, Ulica kneza Mislava 10/I). Funds for both major projects of the Ana Rukavina Foundation were raised during the humanitarian action “I Want Life” held in December last year. The manager of the Foundation Marija Rukavina, the medical director of the Foundation and the president of the Expert Council Mirando Mrsić, the coordinator for cooperation between KBC Zagreb and the Ana Rukavina Foundation Branka Golubić Ćepulić, and the selected candidate for the competition will speak.

ZAGREB – Press conference of the Croatian Construction Union (SGH) affiliated with the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) and the Croatian Employers’ Association – Association of Employers in Construction (HUP-UPG) on the topic “Progress in Construction – with Whom and at What Price?” (11 AM, Workers’ Home, Trg kralja P. Krešimira IV. No. 2, Hall 226, 2nd floor). The president of SGH Jasenka Vukšić and the president of HUP-UPG Mirko Habijanec will discuss pressing issues in the construction sector and joint initiatives of the two social partners.

SPLIT – Pronouncement of the verdict in the case of the accused Dragan Vasiljković, better known as Captain Dragan, who is charged with war crimes against Croatian soldiers and civilians (1:30 PM, large hall of the County Court in Split, Gundulićeva 29 a/I). The case is presided over by Judge Damir Romac, who has examined several dozen witnesses during the evidentiary proceedings. In his closing statements, Captain Dragan denied any guilt for the charges against him.
