MOL Group invites start-ups whose solutions are currently in an advanced growth phase to participate in the program. MOL will implement the program together with the incubator agency Design Terminal from Budapest, which has practical experience and proven success in collaborating with start-ups.

The program, which starts in January, will last for three months and will take place in Budapest, Hungary. Applications are accepted from September 22, and the competition is open to start-ups that are ready to test their innovative solutions (prototype phase or minimum product functionality) in the areas of mobility, loyalty marketing and big data, retail services, as well as package delivery and distribution systems. The selection process will have two phases – an online application, followed by a selection camp, where selected candidates will have the opportunity to present their solutions, teams, and visions and discuss them with representatives of MOL Group and the Design Terminal agency. As part of the selection camp, a pitch competition will be held, during which 4-5 start-up companies will be selected for direct collaboration with the leading company in Central and Eastern Europe and for access to an international base of 10 million customers and a large retail network. Participants in the program will receive individual support and mentorship from business leaders of MOL Group and from the large mentoring team of the Design Terminal agency, and they will also have access to various workshops and office space. At the end of the program, successful start-ups may have the opportunity to establish a long-term partnership with MOL, in the role of suppliers of innovative products and services.

MOL Group believes that advancements in technology and new consumer habits have fundamentally changed the entire industry, especially that part which has so far been considered fuel retailing. The MOL Group 2030 strategy is based on the assumption that current business models need to be challenged in order for the company to maintain its leadership in the period after the peak demand for motor fuels. At MOL, innovations are seen as one way to respond to rapidly changing customer needs, and they have decided to look into the start-up community and seek ideas that will elevate the user experience to the next, higher level.
