ZAGREB – Continuation of the 5th session of the Croatian Parliament (9:30 AM, Croatian Parliament, St. Mark’s Square 6).

ZAGREB – Meeting of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (at 3 PM, in Banski Dvori, St. Mark’s Square 2).

ZAGREB – The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will attend the ceremony of the oath of the 15th generation of cadets and the marking of the beginning of the new academic year 2017/2018 at the Croatian Military Academy (HVU) “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”. ZAGREB – Round table on violence against women and domestic violence on the National Day of the Fight Against Violence Against Women organized by the Ministry of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy. It is held in memory of the tragic murder of three women – a judge, a lawyer, and a party in the proceedings, as well as the serious injury of a court officer, which occurred during a divorce proceeding at the Municipal Court in Zagreb on September 22, 1999, committed by the husband of the party in the proceedings. The aim of the round table is to discuss society’s responsibility in protecting women’s human rights and the challenges and obligations in protecting women victims of violence and achieving full equality between women and men. The Minister of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy Nada Murganić will address the attendees with a speech. Police officer for prevention from the Ministry of the Interior Marija Goatti will speak about the issue of violence against women from the perspective of police work, with a special focus on prevention, while the president of the Women’s Group Karlovac “Korak” Mirjana Duduković will present experiences and challenges in working with women victims of domestic violence. The round table will be moderated by a judge of the High Misdemeanor Court of the Republic of Croatia and an expert in the field of protection from domestic violence Branka Žigante Živković (1 PM, European House hall, Jurišićeva 1/I.)

ZAGREB – Press conference of the Croatian Professional Union of Nurses – Medical Technicians (HSS MS-MT) related to the complete privatization of primary health care announced by Minister of Health Milan Kujundžić. The topic of the conference is “Privatization of Primary Health Care? What kind of health care awaits us – fewer and fewer nurses!” Members of this union from all over Croatia will attend the conference, and the opening will be given by the president of the Main Council Anica Prašnjak and members of the Union (11 AM, premises of the Hospitality and Tourism School, Kombolova 2).

ZAGREB – Press conference on the occasion of the 6th annual conference of patient associations from Southern Europe suffering from rheumatological and musculoskeletal diseases, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 22 and 23, organized by Agora – the umbrella organization that brings together patient associations to empower local, i.e., national associations to ensure and change cultural attitudes towards rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases and enable patients to live independently and become part of the decision-making process. Approximately 45,000 people suffer from rheumatoid arthritis in Croatia, about 25,000 from ankylosing spondylitis, and about 32,000 from psoriatic arthritis. The president of Agora Souzi Makri and the president of the Croatian League Against Rheumatism, Prim. Dr. sc. Frane Grubišić will participate in the press conference. The main topics of the conference are the personalized approach to patients and the quality of life of patients, the problems they face, and the treatment options available to them (10:30 to 10:55 AM, Westin Hotel, 17th floor, Izidora Kršnjavoga 1).

ZAGREB – The President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will visit the stands of exhibitors at the Croatian Chamber of Economy’s “Buy Croatian” campaign (1 PM, Ban Josip Jelačić Square and European Square).

OSIJEK – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Martina Dalić will sign a contract in Osijek for the allocation of non-repayable funds for the project “Business Incubator and Accelerator Antunovac” (10 AM, administrative building of the Osijek-Baranja County). Before signing the contract, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet with entrepreneurs as part of the “Everything in One Place” campaign, where, in cooperation with the Croatian Employers’ Association, instruments of the EU internal market for easier business operations will be presented (9 AM).

RIJEKA – Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli will meet with the Mayor of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel and his associates to discuss the project Rijeka – European Capital of Culture 2020, cooperation on the tourism component of the project, etc. (10:15 AM press statements are planned, City of Rijeka salon, Korzo 16).
