Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has a new life partner, 48-year-old Soyeon Kim from South Korea, media reported on Thursday.
The office of the former leader of the Social Democrats (SPD) declined to comment on reports from the newspaper Bild and the magazine Bunte about the new love of 73-year-old Schroeder, who has been married four times.

According to media reports, Kim is a successful businesswoman living in Seoul who advises Korean companies looking to open stores in Germany. Schroeder’s fourth wife, Doris Schroeder-Koepf, divorced him last year, but the divorce process has not been completed, and she herself has a new partner, again from the SPD party, Boris Pistorius, the Minister of the Interior in the central German state of Lower Saxony.
Schroeder’s coalition led by the SPD was narrowly defeated by the conservatives of Chancellor Angela Merkel in the 2005 elections.
