Lovrinović: Agrokor is Currently the Biggest Security Problem in Croatia

Member of Parliament from the party Change Croatia, Ivan Lovrinović, stated on Wednesday that Agrokor is currently the biggest security problem in Croatia and called on Prime Minister Andrej Plenković or Deputy Prime Minister Martina Dalić to “calmly” say how many foreigners have filed lawsuits against Croatia in the Agrokor case.

“I have studied the competencies of the Security and Intelligence Agency (SOA) and saw that they are obliged to conduct analyses on threats, and no verification has been made regarding what is happening in Agrokor. Perhaps SOA does not even have the personnel for that, and if they did, maybe they considered it not to be such a problem for Croatia,” said Lovrinović after a break he requested in Parliament.

He is convinced that the mass emigration from Slavonia is connected to the manufacturing companies from the Agrokor group in that area.

“Do you know who will be the majority population in Slavonia in about ten years? Agrokor’s companies are there; it is naive to think that Slavonians are emigrating by chance. Those who take over the concession from Agrokor will need labor, and that will be cheaper labor, which will come from other countries,” says Lovrinović.

In this context, he questioned whether the Russians or Americans have greater geostrategic interests in Croatia.

“The greatest benefits will go to some third neighboring country. Everything we are watching is a show for the public, and citizens need to know that something big is rolling behind the hills,” concluded Lovrinović.

He called on the Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister to say how many foreigners have filed lawsuits against Croatia due to Agrokor.
