47 million kuna for the marina in Vela Luka

The Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić, the Director of the County Port Authority Boris Žuvela, and the representative of the company Ovalis Ivo Šegon signed contracts worth 47 million kuna for the concession and execution of public infrastructure works related to the realization of the marina in Vela Luka on Tuesday in Dubrovnik.

Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić emphasized that the decision to award the concession to the company Ovalis was made at the County Assembly and that this concludes a long-standing process.

– The value of the works on the investment is 47 million kuna, and thus the series of concession grants continues. Recently, contracts were signed for the marina in Lumbarda, we are preparing the concession for the nautical tourism port in Blato, and we expect the state to quickly complete the concession process for the marinas in Lastovo and the marina in Ploče, said Dobroslavić, adding that the County will continue to responsibly manage the maritime good.

The Director of the County Port Authority Vela Luka, Boris Žuvela, said he is particularly pleased with the final realization of this project.

– This is of great importance for the Municipality of Vela Luka and this project will greatly contribute to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, he said.

The representative of the concessionaire Ivo Šegon assessed that the marina will contribute to the development of Vela Luka and the entire island of Korčula. The marina project with 200 berths will be implemented in two phases, which include the construction of the marina and the renovation of the area under the County Port Authority Vela Luka.
