I Porsche predstavio konkurenta Tesli – model Mission E

The electric concept Porsche Mission E 2015 is expected to be released for sale by the end of 2019, with a price range anticipated between $80,000 and $90,000, reports The Verge.

Speaking last week at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume stated that the Mission E will look very similar to the concept presented two years ago at the exhibition. It is expected to be smaller than Porsche’s other four-door model, the Panamera, and the company says it intends to bridge the gap between that vehicle and the 911, the renowned sports car.

Unlike current Porsche hybrids, the Mission E will not have a supplementary internal combustion engine. Nevertheless, it is promised to reach a speed of 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds and a top speed of around 250 km/h using a dual motor that enables all-wheel drive. However, like Tesla, Blume says that Porsche will offer the Mission E with different power levels, so the “base” version at $90,000 may not be that powerful.

Blume also did not rule out expanding the Mission E model into a coupe or SUV. Porsche, although known for sports cars, has achieved considerable success with the SUV model Cayenne. Porsche is part of the massive Volkswagen group, which has promised to focus solely on electric vehicles by 2030.
