The fastest-growing European start-up FlixBus has connected domestic cities for the first time, thereby starting to create a green network within Croatia. Until now, FlixBus has mainly connected cities at the international level, but by directly linking Osijek, Varaždin, and Čakovec, it has taken the first steps in developing a domestic bus network. In addition to being the first domestic FlixBus green line, it is also the first direct bus connection between the mentioned cities. FlixBus continues to connect larger, as well as smaller and medium-sized cities, making them easily accessible.
– In addition to the international network of lines, from the very beginning, our desire and goal has been to offer green and smart mobility throughout Croatia, that is, to develop a domestic green network and enable smart mobility for everyone, while also providing a choice in the way of travel. We believe that with our bus partners and the level of service at the offered price, we will succeed in this, said Dean Čebohin, Director of Business Development for the FlixBus CEE region.
>>>FlixBus transported three times more passengers in Croatia this summer
The first domestic line stretches along the Podravska magistrala between Osijek, Varaždin, and Čakovec, and is available daily for as low as 49 kn. Details about departures and arrivals, as well as other travel details, can be checked at www.FlixBus.hr or via the free mobile app.
– By listening to the desires of passengers and our internal research, we noticed that there has been a high demand for a simple and accessible connection on this route for a long time. Until now, these cities have been poorly connected or not connected at all via the Podravska magistrala. We believe that this move will delight many passengers, primarily students, who, as we have learned, frequently travel between these two student cities. We are not stopping here, added Čebohin.
Green and smart mobility for every pocket
The European bus operator FlixBus started as a start-up in 2013 and has since offered a new way of comfortable and green travel for every budget. This business model has always placed the passenger at the center of the development strategy, and with smart network planning of bus lines and continuous investment in the highest technological innovations, FlixBus has created the largest international network of lines across Europe with over 200,000 daily connections, through 26 European countries to 1,200 destinations.
In addition to comfortable and safe rides, passengers are provided with free Wi-Fi, power outlets next to seats, more space between seats, free luggage, and the ability to change and cancel reservations up to 15 minutes before departure, online ticket purchasing without waiting in line at ticket counters, as well as passenger identification only via QR code and smartphone. Thanks to all these travel options at affordable prices, FlixBus expects to transport more than 100 million passengers across Europe by the end of the year.
