– The Croatian economy and citizens have been relieved of over two and a half billion kuna this year. You will hear the results of the budget execution for the first six months. I believe we will all be convinced that we have made a really good step forward. You will see, said Finance Minister Zdravko Marić on Thursday morning ahead of the Government session where, in addition to discussing the postponement of the property tax introduction, the implementation of the planned state budget for the first half of the year will be presented, along with the results of the tax reforms.

Marić reiterated some of their basic postulates.
– If you relieve income in terms of tax burden and increase disposable income, you stimulate consumption. If you relieve the tax burden on entrepreneurs, you stimulate their investment activity and employment.
He added that the postponement of the property tax in no way affects the tax reform as over 90 percent of what they envisioned has been implemented. The Finance Minister also stated that as an athlete he likes to win, but he is always ready for compromises. In a brief statement to the media, he did not elaborate further on the future plan regarding the property tax, but he said that the public will hear everything at the upcoming Government session.
