In the first seven months, airports recorded 5.2 million more passengers than last year

In nine Croatian airports, 5.2 million passengers were recorded in the first seven months of this year, which is 17.7 percent more than in the same period last year, with July contributing over 1.7 million passengers or 18.3 percent more than in the same month last year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

The increase in the number of passengers at all airports is also linked to an increase in aircraft operations, which totaled nearly 65 thousand or 8.2 percent more than last year. Of this, there were a total of 18.3 thousand operations in July, representing an increase of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last year.

On the other hand, cargo traffic at airports in the first seven months of this year decreased by 3 percent, to about 4.6 thousand tons, although in July there was an increase of 22.45 percent, to 922 tons.

Of the total 1.75 million passengers in all nine airports in July this year, the most passengers, nearly 654 thousand, were in Split, with an increase of 20.9 percent compared to July 2016.

In second place is Dubrovnik Airport, which served 440 thousand passengers in July, or 15.6 percent more than last July.

Following is Zagreb Airport Franjo Tuđman with 350 thousand passengers and an increase of 14.3 percent, and Pula Airport, through which 151 thousand passengers passed in July, which is 32 percent more compared to last July.
