The selected cities, fortresses, islands, historical and archaeological sites, spectacular mountain views, and landscapes make up the 11 best European locations where popular films and series have been shot in the last decade, competing for the title of Best European Film Location of the Decade.

In addition to Dubrovnik and Kaštel Gomilica (Kaštilac), which made the list thanks to the series “Game of Thrones”, the finalists also include the Greek island of Antiparos (film “Preplanulost”), the Polish city of Wroclaw (film “Bridge of Spies”), Görlitz in Germany (film “The Grand Budapest Hotel”), the Spanish La isla Minima (film “Swamp”), the Basque islet of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (series Game of Thrones), the Roman Karakaline thermal baths (film “The Great Beauty”), the Val Senales glacier in Italian South Tyrol (film “Everest”), the Norwegian valley of Valldalen (film “Ex Machina”), and the city of Vienna (film “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation”).

The nomination process took place in two phases – first, EUFCN members selected and proposed their locations (places used for films or TV series), after which a group of experts, film critics from Cineurope, selected the finalists.
