The cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia in the economic field is excellent, while in some other areas, such as the issue of border determination, it is not, emphasized Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar on Tuesday, opening the jubilee 50th International Fair of Crafts and Entrepreneurship (MOS) in Celje.
At the MOS, which is held from September 12 to 17, 1,478 exhibitors from 30 countries are presenting, among them 50 exhibitors from Croatia. This fair has a partner country for the first time, which is Croatia.
The opening of the fair was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Martina Dalić and Minister of Tourism Gari Capelli.

In opening the event together with the Croatian minister, Cerar briefly reflected on interstate relations in light of recent disagreements related to the arbitration dispute, emphasizing excellent economic cooperation considering that the two countries are among each other’s most important trading partners.
– In some areas, such as the economic, cooperation is excellent, in some very good or good, stated the Slovenian Prime Minister, adding that in some areas cooperation is not good, such as the issue of border determination. In these matters, mutual trust is lacking in order to resolve them, and politics is largely responsible for this, Cerar emphasized.

Deputy Prime Minister Dalić also praised the high level of economic cooperation in her speech, expressing regret that “some important issues” between the states have long remained open and unresolved, adding that they should be resolved “in a manner that respects international law.”
She highlighted that mutual trade between Slovenia and Croatia is on the rise, reaching 3.6 billion euros last year. For Croatia, Slovenia is the third foreign trade partner, while Croatia is the fourth for Slovenia, emphasized Minister Dalić, also noting the large number of Slovenian tourists who traditionally visit Croatia.
