Dubai – the best destination for a summer vacation in the middle of winter

Summer and vacation time are coming to an end, and enjoying cocktails on the beach and carefree strolls through vibrant streets on warm evenings seem like a distant memory. However, while it is cold and gloomy autumn weather in Zagreb, thanks to the daily flights of Emirates airline, enjoying endless summer in magnificent Dubai is just a few hours away.

In this way, summer vacation can last all year round – what a wonderful world that would be! First and foremost – the beaches!

Long fantastic sandy beaches with breathtaking views are one of the most famous features of Dubai. Visitors staying in one of the numerous private resorts and hotels have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive beaches where food and drinks are served directly on the sun loungers.

Those staying in city hotels can embark on exploring the beautiful sandy public beaches that are easily accessible and free for sun enjoyment. Jumeirah Open (Public) Beach is about 3 kilometers long, making it ideal for long walks, picnics on the sand, or enjoying delicacies from nearby restaurants. It has showers, toilet facilities, and changing rooms and is located near Palm Strip Mall.

Parents will be particularly delighted to hear that the beach is excellent for children as the water is very shallow. Opposite the quiet and peaceful residential area of Jumeirah, Kite Beach offers numerous activities such as kite surfing, beach tennis, beach volleyball, or kayaking, and visitors are often captivated by the spectacular view of Burj Al Arab.

Those for whom sports are not the first choice when it comes to beach activities can always simply relax, recline on a sunbed, and enjoy the pleasant breeze. Another beach that is definitely worth visiting is the one in Al Mamzar Park, which also carries the Blue Flag. Entrance is charged at 5 AED (about 9 kuna), and the beach, besides the sea and sun, also offers two large pools where sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented. There are also small cafes and shops where various snacks, light meals, and refreshing drinks can be found.

Monday and Wednesday in Al Mamzar Park are reserved for Ladies Day, which are days when only women can enter the beach. For those whose idea of a perfect vacation does not include activities at sea, Dubai offers more than 4000 tracks for exciting cycling, especially during the autumn and winter periods when the temperature is lower than in summer. Cycling simultaneously provides the opportunity to explore this jewel of the Middle East and enjoy riding on various terrains and state-of-the-art tracks.

4000 cycling tracks

There are several well-maintained cycling tracks that are ideal for enjoying a relaxing ride with other enthusiasts or with family and children. One of them is Nad Al Sheba, which was previously used as a path for camels, and today has been transformed into a cycling track. Thanks to its excellent location, this route is ideal for pedaling while enjoying the spectacular daytime and nighttime views of downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa.

It is also great for families as it includes a children’s cycling track with street signs and roundabouts where the youngest can learn about road safety. Al Qudra Cycle Track is the perfect track for those who enjoy cycling medium and long distances.

It offers two routes, a shorter one (18 kilometers long) and a longer one (50 kilometers). Whichever track cyclists choose, they will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the sandy dunes as well as the five-star Bab Al Shams Resort, where riders usually take a break from cycling and reach for refreshments. After a full day of activities, there is nothing better than a gourmet dinner in the cozy atmosphere of one of the many restaurants in Dubai.

With numerous amenities and warm summer weather while winter prevails in Europe, it is best to take a deep breath, pack a suitcase, book a ticket to Dubai, and experience summer in the city of wonders.

Enjoying delicious specialties on an open terrace is the best way to make the most of a warm summer night and end a perfect day. When it comes to a paradise city and the offerings of local restaurants, service is of a high standard everywhere, and the food is excellent. Some of the most popular places are located in Dubai Marina, but exclusive bars and restaurants are also found on the rooftops of some of the tallest buildings in the world, offering stunning views of the city and skyscrapers.

Emirates’ daily flight between Zagreb and Dubai on a Boeing 777-300ER opens up the possibility for travelers to reach over 150 destinations in the Emirates network with just one stopover at Emirates’ modern hub in Dubai, specifically on an Airbus A380, including highlights such as Shanghai, Beijing, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, as well as Sydney and Melbourne, among many others.
