In the relationship between Mercator and the Agrokor group, there have been no transactions to date in which the Slovenian retail chain has been harmed in favor of the majority owner, stated Gregor Planteu, the extraordinary member of Mercator’s management, in his first report on transactions and dealings between this retail chain and its parent company.

– All transactions concluded between Mercator and the majority owner Agrokor and its affiliated companies comply with the principles of integrity, economy, and credibility, and Mercator has not been deprived or harmed in any concluded transaction, states Planteu’s first report, which was appointed to the Mercator Management Board as its commissioner by the Slovenian government four months ago.
Planteu was appointed to the Mercator Management based on the “lex Mercatora”, or the Law on the Conditions for Appointing an Extraordinary Member of the Management in Companies of Systemic Importance for Slovenia, in order to oversee all business transactions with the parent group Agrokor and to prevent any potential outflow of capital and resources to the insolvent Agrokor, thus protecting the national interest due to Mercator’s impact on the entire Slovenian economy.
