We announce the most important events in Croatia for Wednesday, September 6.

KORENICA/UDBINA – The President of the Republic Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will meet with representatives of the municipality of Plitvička Jezera and citizens of Korenica (10 AM, Trg svetog Jurja 6, Korenica). After that, she will meet with representatives of the municipality and citizens of Udbina and visit the Church of Croatian Martyrs (11:20 AM).

ŠENKOVEC – The President of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković will participate in the commemoration of the 451st anniversary of the heroic death of Nikola IV. Zrinski – the Battle of Sziget, where he will address those present (4:50 PM).

ZAGREB – A press conference will present a new e-service from the Ministry of the Interior – submitting applications for a driver’s license electronically within the e-Citizens system (11 AM, amphitheater of the Police Directorate, Ilica 335). The press conference will be attended by the Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović, the Minister of Administration Lovro Kuščević, and representatives of the Agency for Commercial Activities, the Financial Agency, and the Central State Office for the Development of the Digital Society. Media representatives should arrive no later than 10:45 AM.

ZAGREB – A meeting of the Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds Gabrijela Žalac with county prefects and regional coordinators during which representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds will present activities related to the drafting of new laws, ongoing tenders, and planned activities (1 PM, Hotel International, Grand Salon Hall, Miramarska 24). The attendees will be addressed by Minister Žalac and the President of the Croatian Association of Counties Goran Pauk.

ZAGREB – The Independent Trade Union of Croatia (SSSH), the Croatian Trade Union Confederation (MHS), and the Youth Network of Croatia (MMH), as part of the initiative “I am worth more”, are organizing a press conference to announce the protest “From Measure to Barrier – Youth are Worth More” (10:30 AM, St. Mark’s Square). Nediljka Buklijaš from the Independent Trade Union of Croatia, young worker Katarina Juras, Lucija Barjašić Špiler from the Croatian Trade Union Confederation, and Josip Miličević from the Youth Network of Croatia will speak at the conference about why the initiative was launched, why they are calling for the abolition of the SOR and the return of internships, what the specific demands of the initiative are, and when and why they are protesting.

ZAGREB – A press conference of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Institute for the Development and Innovation of Youth, and CARNet will present the large project PROMikro aimed at introducing digital literacy into various teaching subjects and extracurricular activities using microcomputers (10:30 AM, MZOS, Donje Svetice 38). The conference will feature the Minister of Science and Education Blaženka Divjak, co-founder of IRIM entrepreneur Nenad Bakić, and the director of CARNet Goran Kezunović. A demonstration of programming using micro:bit will also be held.

ZAGREB – A ceremonial handover of a donation to the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb, where INA has donated a new set of multi-split air conditioning units that will ease the stay of patients during treatment (10 AM, KBC Zagreb, Clinic for Lung Diseases Jordanovac, Jordanovac 104, hall on the ground floor of the Main Building). The attendees will be addressed by the director of KBC Zagreb Ante Ćorušić, the head of the Clinic for Lung Diseases Miroslav Samaržija, and the CEO of INA Zoltan Aldott.

OSIJEK – The exhibition “Esseker Spuren” on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the German community marks the beginning of a three-day international conference on the position of German minorities in Central Europe (7 PM, Museum of Fine Arts in Osijek, Europske av. 9). The conference is organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation from Zagreb and the German Community – Regional Association of Danube Swabians, and will gather presidents and representatives of German minorities from Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Serbia, as well as distinguished guests from Germany.
