Wild Boars on the Streets of Novi Sad

Three wild boars were on the streets of Novi Sad on Monday and are still at large despite being pursued by hunters and police, Novi Sad media reported on Tuesday.

According to Zoran Brzak from the Hunting Association (LU) “Neoplanta 1884” in an interview with radio and portal “021”, the boars likely escaped from the Fruška Gora National Park and swam to the Novi Sad beach, where a security worker noticed them. Media reports indicate that one boar chased after him, and he saved himself by climbing onto the stage.

Brzak notes for “021” that it will be nearly impossible to locate them, given that the streets are not closed. The police stated that patrols have been deployed to the area, closed the beach, and are searching the neighborhoods.

Three members of LU “Neoplanta” received approval from the provincial Secretariat for Agriculture to find the wild boars and “take appropriate measures.”
