Dukat Raises Purchase Price of Milk

Dukat announced on Monday that it has raised the purchase price of fresh raw milk by 10 lipa per liter since the beginning of September, and due to the increase in quality, the price will rise by an additional 5 lipa, meaning that producers will receive an average of about 15 lipa more per liter for milk delivered in September.

– In accordance with the announcement of the correction of the purchase price of milk from July, Dukat has raised the purchase price of fresh raw milk in its purchasing area by 10 lipa per liter of delivered milk. Furthermore, due to the increase in the quality of produced milk, especially the rise in protein content in the milk, the price will additionally increase by about 5 lipa per liter, which means that producers will be paid an average of about 15 lipa more per liter of delivered milk for milk delivered in September, as stated in Dukat’s announcement.

As they state, this is Dukat’s fifth increase in the purchase prices of fresh raw milk to its cooperators in the last eleven months.

Dukat also welcomes the conclusions from the recently held meeting of farmer representatives with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković regarding the provision of emergency assistance to the primary milk production sector.

Prime Minister Plenković met with representatives of milk producers at the end of August, and after that meeting, Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušić announced that a meeting would be organized shortly with retail chains and large purchasers, given that producers are most troubled by the low purchase price of milk.

Minister Tolušić also announced stricter control of dumping prices, as well as that through the Rural Development Program, assistance will be provided to the livestock and dairy sectors, for example, through financing the purchase of live animals and financing the construction of mini dairies, for which a special program or competition will be created. It is expected to be announced by the end of the year, and through it, the construction of 10 to 15 mini dairies will be financed.
