What September Brings to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO Now?

Now that the seventh season of Game of Thrones has concluded, viewers around the world are left to find something new among a pile of content. In desperate moments like this, when the season of the most anticipated series of the year ends, it becomes clear why streaming services are a great thing, writes The Verge.

Netflix will strengthen its movie offerings in September with titles such as Dead Poets Society, Dog Day Afternoon, and all four installments of Jaws. The contract between Netflix and Disney is reportedly set to expire in a few years, so in September, users can still enjoy Disney classics like Hercules and Mulan without worry. Additionally, Netflix’s original content will begin airing, including the adaptation of Stephen King’s book Gerald’s Game, a new season of Narcos, and BoJack Horseman, as well as a new episode of Fuller House. Unfortunately, some titles will no longer be available, such as Scream and the original A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Amazon Prime will expand its programming with a new season of the series Transparent, and it will also broaden its film offerings with titles such as An American Werewolf in London, the remake of Magnificent Seven, and The Lost City of Z.

HBO will fill its title offerings in September with films featuring Al Pacino such as Scarface, Scent of a Woman, and Sea of Love, along with La La Land and Tron. The channel will officially begin airing the series Deuce by David Simon and George Pelencanos on September 17, although the first episode is already available on HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO on demand.

Unfortunately, starting September 30, some films will no longer be available, including the original Blues Brothers, Straight Outta Compton, The Big Lebowski, and Batman & Robin.
