Julietta Valls Noyes, a career diplomat, was appointed to the position of ambassador in September 2015 during the administration of Barack Obama. The official Twitter profile of the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb announced that the ambassador and all embassy staff congratulate Kohorst, whom Trump intends to appoint as the new ambassador to Croatia.

The U.S. president has also appointed new ambassadors to Germany, Estonia, and Switzerland, all of whom still need to be confirmed by the Senate.
