We announce the most important events in Croatia for Friday, September 1:

VIROVITICA – On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Virovitica-Podravina County, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, will participate in the ceremonial session of the County Assembly of Virovitica-Podravina County. (11 AM, City Theatre, Trg Ljudevita Patačića 1). Accompanying Prime Minister Plenković will be the Minister of Agriculture, Tomislav Tolušić. The county day has been celebrated since 1996 in memory of the Restoration Assembly of the then Virovitica County held on September 3, 1848.

ZAGREB – A ceremonial handover of contracts for the allocation of non-repayable funds for students with developmental difficulties in primary and secondary educational institutions. The contracts will be handed over by the Minister of Science and Education, Blaženka Divjak. The Ministry of Science and Education has secured more than 360 million kuna from the European Social Fund for students with developmental difficulties in primary and secondary educational institutions (10 AM, Large Amphitheater at the Faculty of Forestry, Svetošimunska cesta 25).

ZAGREB – Croatian Member of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, Biljana Borzan, and the Director of the Croatian Food Agency, Andrea Gross-Bošković, will present the results of the project “Research on the Quality of Apparently Identical Products in the Markets of Old and New EU Member States” at a press conference. Borzan and Gross-Bošković will present the results of analyses of products purchased in Zagreb and Munich, and will showcase the differences in quality of apparently identical products in the markets of old and new EU member states (10 AM, House of Europe, Cesarčeva 6).

ZAGREB – A ceremony for the acceptance of police officers – trainees into the service of the Zagreb Police Administration. The new police officer trainees will be addressed by the Minister of the Interior, Davor Božinović, and the Chief of Police, Nikola Milina. The ceremony is held in cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board, and the director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, Martina Bienenfeld, will also be present (10 AM, at Zagreb’s Opatovina, summer stage of Histrion).
