The utility and commercial companies of the City of Rijeka achieved a profit in their operations last year, except for the Utility Company Čistoća, which incurred a loss of 17.9 million kuna, according to data from the meeting of the Mayor of Rijeka, Vojko Obersnel, where reports on the operations of city companies were accepted.
The loss of Čistoća of 17.9 million kuna, which, as stated, occurred due to delays in the commencement of operations of the County Waste Management Center Marišćina, will be largely covered by retained earnings, an amount of 11.8 million kuna, from other reserves 161.5 thousand kuna, while the remaining 5.9 million kuna will be carried over to future periods.

According to the presented data, the profit of the Utility Company Kozala, which manages the city cemeteries, of 90.6 thousand kuna will be allocated to retained earnings, while the profit of the city transport company Autotrolej of 642.8 thousand kuna will cover losses from previous periods.
To cover losses from previous periods, the profit of the Water Supply and Sewerage of 382.2 thousand kuna will also be allocated, as well as 318.5 thousand kuna profit from Energa, a company for the distribution of thermal energy and gas.
Last year, Rijeka prometa, which maintains unclassified roads and public traffic areas, operated with a profit of 3.6 million kuna, Business Systems, which deals with strategic development and business support, 3.1 million kuna, Rijeka plus, which manages the organization and collection of parking fees, 2.1 million kuna, and Rijeka sport, which manages and maintains sports and other facilities, with an amount of 62.5 thousand kuna.
