Šalaj: I am sure that the Prime Minister has a plan that does not include early elections

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković dismissed the ministers of the MOST independent lists Vlahu Orepić, Slaven Dobrović, and Ante Šprlja because they opposed the Government of the Republic of Croatia’s statement in response to the opposition’s request for the dismissal of Finance Minister Zdravko Marić. For Berta Šalaj, a professor at the Faculty of Political Science, this only means that Prime Minister Plenković has decided once and for all to put an end to the demands and requests of his coalition partner and show them who is the strong partner in the Government.

>>> Plenković requested the dismissal of three MOST ministers

– I am sure that the Prime Minister and HDZ have a plan that does not include new parliamentary elections but only a reshuffling of the Government, and the ball is in MOST’s court. Either they will withdraw until the vote of no confidence in Zdravko Marić in the Parliament and score an own goal before the local elections, or they will stoically accept their fate in opposition – said Šalaj, adding that, in his opinion, the latter scenario is more likely if they want to remain consistent.
