During the Easter holidays, from April 14 to 17, Croatia was visited by 117.3 thousand tourists, who achieved 400 thousand overnight stays, representing increases of 68 and 94 percent compared to the same holidays last year, according to data from eVisitor provided on Tuesday by the Ministry of Tourism.

-The results for the first half of April are excellent, and we believe they will continue for the rest of the month. These high numbers are also an indicator that Croatia has much to offer beyond the main summer part of the tourist year and is becoming increasingly recognized as a year-round destination, said Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli regarding these figures.
He also noted that in tourism in April before the Easter holidays, the increase in overnight stays was already around 50 percent compared to the first half of April last year.

Cappelli believes that good results in tourism will continue over the next two months, before the summer season, because, as he says, “the continuation of growth in tourist traffic in the pre and post-season is extremely important for increasing revenue in tourism and enabling active business for all tourism and other related activities that also actively contribute to increasing the competitiveness of tourism and the entire Croatian economy.”
In addition to the significant increase in the number of arrivals and overnight stays for the Easter holidays, which have never been at such high percentages, the first data from the eVisitor and eCrew systems (tourist traffic achieved in commercial and non-commercial facilities and nautical charters) also show that the most overnight stays for the holidays were recorded in Istria, 134 thousand, and in Kvarner, 70 thousand.
