Israeli Billionaire Sues ‘Malicious Soros’, Seeks $10 Billion in Damages

Mining company BSG Resources (BSGR) filed a lawsuit on Friday in federal court in New York, claiming that financier George Soros manipulated the government of Guinea to prevent a deal involving iron ore, Reuters reports.

BSGR, controlled by Israeli billionaire Beny Steinmetz, alleges that Soros and ‘his entities’ conspired with officials to torpedo the signing of a contract with Guinea in 2014. The company is seeking $10 billion in damages.

Israeli authorities placed Steinmetz under house arrest on November 19 last year following allegations that he paid tens of millions of dollars to senior public officials and officials in Guinea to secure business interests. He was released from custody in January without charges being filed.

Soros fabricated defamatory statements regarding BSGR’s involvement in corruption, the company’s lawsuit states.

– Soros was motivated solely by malice, as he had no economic interests in Guinea, – BSGR added.
