Montenegrin Minister: Companies Ledo and Mercator Operate Stably in Montenegro

The companies Ledo and Mercator Montenegro, which are part of the Croatian Agrokor, operate stably and meet all financial obligations, stated Montenegrin Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić, adding that there is no fear that their operations could be jeopardized.

– Currently, two companies are operating in Montenegro that are in some way, indirectly or directly, connected to Agrokor, namely Ledo and Mercator Montenegro. At this moment, there is absolutely no risk to their operations, nor is there any spillover of risk from Croatian Agrokor, said Minister Sekulić while presenting a report to the government on the impact of the situation in the Agrokor group on companies in Montenegro.

Media on Friday added that the Montenegrin government has been in intensive communication with colleagues from the region and with representatives of these two companies in Montenegro over the past few days.

Mercator Montenegro operates completely independently in the Montenegrin market, although its majority owner is Slovenian Mercator.

The Minister stated that the government in Podgorica will continue to monitor their operations on a daily basis in the coming period, so that it can react in a timely manner if any problems arise.

– It is, by all indicators, an extremely healthy company, which operates very successfully in Montenegro, employs nearly 1,600 workers, and regularly meets its obligations to the state, employees, and suppliers, Sekulić noted.
