Organized by the University of Dubrovnik’s Center for Research and Development in Management, the two-day OFEL international scientific conference on corporate governance, management, and entrepreneurship was held in Dubrovnik on April 7 and 8. The focus of the conference, which was attended by around 200 scientists and experts from 27 countries, was on the paradoxes of management in postmodern societies, major corporate scandals, the collapse of the foundations of neoliberalism, privatization and covert nationalization, issues of economic inequality, and the position and role of leaders in the postmodern economy and post-capitalism. The conference discussed the dominance of illusions and symbols over social reality, as well as epistemological and ontological relativism in management.
OFEL, as the largest and most significant regional scientific conference in the field of management and corporate governance, is marking a small anniversary this year, the fifth year of its existence. Eminent experts from around the world and Croatia participated in the conference, including professors Davide Ravasi, Marrian W. Lewis, Mark Epstein, Frank Bezzina, Shann Turnbull, Darko Tipurić, Marina Dabić, Dejan Kružić, Lillian Wanderlay, and many others.
