Tomislav Boban: State Property Management Strategy by February

The most important projects ahead of us are the allocation of land to local communities for waste management centers. We are indeed resolving this quickly, but we must also hurry as we need to utilize EU funds for these centers, said Tomislav Boban, director of the State Office for State Property Management (DUUDI). He also presented the newly established Ministry of State Property, which manages shares and business interests in companies of strategic and special importance for the Republic of Croatia, apartments and business premises, as well as land. Boban announced at the beginning of the second day of the conference “48 hours – meeting of mayors and entrepreneurs” that a state property management strategy is being prepared, which will be adopted by February.

And despite yesterday’s defeat in the football match against a team of entrepreneurs who have never played together, the mayors are holding up well and do not lose hope that next year will bring them a new opportunity.

A similar motivation was conveyed to them by Ivan Matanović from the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation, who said that cities are the drivers of economic growth, but in Croatia, part of the urban areas is significantly ahead in development, while another part of cities and municipalities is quite underdeveloped.

– Our goal is to help the state and local government to get started – said Matanović, welcoming such events where mayors and entrepreneurs connect and collaborate.
