When I read on the newspaper front page that Božo Petrov is calling on all companies to apply for tenders ‘so that we can procure tablets for all representatives’, my first thought was that a psychiatrist had made a diagnosis and that he was prescribing pills to parliamentary representatives to achieve better performance. However, these ‘pills’ would save 1.5 million kuna annually. Two million is spent, in fact, on huge amounts of paper legal proposals that are copied and printed for representatives in unlimited quantities. And Petrov would replace all that with tablets (not pills). This logical move by the new head of the Parliament is not surprising. What is surprising is that neither Leko nor Reiner have eliminated paper from the parliamentary benches.
