Mysticore – how much are you interested in magic?

When daily duties, an empty bank account, and piles of obligations that you wouldn’t be able to fulfill even if the day lasted 48 hours press you, when you long for the times your parents and grandparents nostalgically remember, remember that you are one of seven billion privileged souls who have the honor of living in what is called the most exciting time in history. Of course, this does not refer to the excitement that prevailed in times when, for example, empires fell or nations migrated, but to the incredible amount of changes that the average person must digest in an accelerating time (or at least that is what the Mayans claimed). All these changes, from increasingly advanced technology to dramatic recessions, have influenced not only lifestyle changes but also a re-examination of absolutely all value systems. It is well known that, pressed by life, people, especially younger generations, increasingly (as much as they can) dive into themselves, questioning the purpose of their own lives, and with the thought that society will not take care of their well-being, they try to find happiness on their own. One of the byproducts of such a view of life is ‘mysticore’, defined as a trend of increasing interest in the magical, somewhat also the occult, in all parts of lifestyle. What makes it interesting (besides the mere fact that it is related to magic) is that its main accelerators are new technologies, consumerism, the need for spiritual experiences, and, to some extent – feminism.
