Instead of producing monitors for its Mac computers itself, Apple has decided to entrust this task to another company, of course in close collaboration. LG has thus introduced its UltraFine monitor series, which will be available directly in Apple stores starting in December, among other places. The more powerful 5K model features a 27-inch display and an impressive resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels, which, with a total of 14.7 million pixels, provides an impressive density of 218 pixels per inch. Integrated speakers are also included, which Apple claims deliver hi-fi sound quality. The monitor uses Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and can also charge the new MacBook Pro laptops while simultaneously transmitting video, audio, and data to the monitor. The smaller model measures 21.5 inches and offers standard 4K resolution. Initial prices were $1300 and $700, but they have now been reduced by 25 percent and are expected to remain at this price until the end of the year.
