Matilda Bačelić writes about how the new Minister of Economy, Martina Dalić, intends to revise the Industrial Strategy and the Smart Specialization Strategy to rely more on IT. As the ultimate strategic goal, she highlighted strengthening production, exports, and new industries, especially IT.
You can also read about how Croatian companies are asking Minister Ćorić for 12,000 foreign workers in 2017. Employers lobby for every foreign worker, but the new Minister of Labor should change the entire system. If the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) does not have the requested worker profile, companies should be allowed to import them without any quotas, it is proposed from the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK). In the meantime, employers are left with only the method of retraining, writes Tin Bašić.
One of the stories in the new issue of Lider talks about eight saleswomen, seamstresses, and housewives who agreed to retrain in Eko Međimurje and became – welders.
