Adria Snack Company achieved 131 million kuna in revenue in its first year of operation

Members of the management team of Adria Snack Company d.o.o. presented today the business results of the company’s first year of operation, confirming its leading position in the snack market in Croatia and growth in the region. Previous investments in production facilities, this year’s record potato purchases, and plans for the upcoming period were also presented.

In 2016, Adria Snack Company d.o.o. achieved 131 million kuna in revenue. The total value of investments reached 7 million kuna, new jobs were created, and the company exceeded all set goals in its first year of operation across five markets in the region.

“The total investment in the first year amounted to 7 million kuna, which allowed us to further modernize the facilities and improve the production capacities of the factory in Hercegovac. A new packaging machine, new flavoring agents, and additional equipment were acquired to enhance product quality, and the storage space for receiving and storing potatoes was further modernized. In this investment cycle, we also ensured the implementation of a system that achieved a higher level of energy efficiency in our production facilities. Additionally, in the next two years, we plan more than 11 million kuna in additional investments aimed at further increasing production capacities,” emphasized Dubravko Folnović, director of Adria Snack Company d.o.o.

The snack market in the Adria region has recorded a growth of 2.1 percent over the past two years, and this trend is expected to continue. Therefore, the focus of Adria Snack’s strategy is further expansion in production and technological innovations, broadening the product range, and entering new categories.

“During 2016, we intensified our activities, launched a significant innovation cycle across the entire branded assortment, which the market recognized, thus further strengthening our positions in Croatia and the region, especially in BiH where we became a strong number two with Čipi chips, and in Kosovo where we firmly hold the number one position with Chio chips. In Croatia, through a comprehensive approach to consumers and the market, we are reinforcing an extremely dominant leadership position, holding 20% of the snack market with a well-developed assortment of brands that provides us with very good predispositions for further growth and expansion. The results of our activities are visible through, for example, Čipi chips, Tip Top, Franck peanuts, and popcorn, which are recording double-digit growth rates this year, and we look forward to 2017 with optimism, in which we will continue with our innovative approach,” said Dino Bijač, director of marketing and development at Adria Snack Company d.o.o.
