Data on party donors has been published. As usual, HDZ has collected the most donations. Along with tried-and-true entrepreneurial personnel, HDZ has also acquired some new ones. One of them donated 75,000 kuna, which is a significant amount for a company that had a revenue of a mere 4,480 kuna last year. This is about Impol TLM. The Slovenian Impol company has leased the operations of TLM in bankruptcy and intends to become the majority owner during the bankruptcy proceedings. It has now politely thanked the ruling party with a modest gift. Clearly, directors Jurica Tončić and Tomaž Smolar are big supporters of HDZ. In recent inter-state neighborly entrepreneurial rearrangements, there is an attempt at trade in the opposite direction. Croatian Pevec is reportedly interested in acquiring the Slovenian chain Merkur, which is in bankruptcy. The deadline for submitting binding offers for the acquisition has just been extended, probably due to organizing a defense against Pevec. What if the bankruptcy administrator Simona Goriup accepts Pevec’s offer? Would it be appropriate for Pevec to donate money to the party of Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar before the purchase or after the transaction is completed? How would the Slovenian public react to this, and how would the judiciary?
