Pumpkins; they are everywhere around us, relatively inexpensive, and there is an abundance of varieties available, so why not take advantage of this and, while enjoying this delicious vegetable, simultaneously lose weight?
Pumpkins are very healthy, packed with antioxidants that protect your heart, boost your immunity, and prevent the emergence of cancer cells. They have high levels of vitamin C, as well as vitamin E, which is crucial for skin beauty. Among the minerals they are rich in, potassium helps maintain fluid balance in the body, while magnesium supports bone health. Pumpkin also contains a good amount of iron, protein, phytosterols, folic and pantothenic acid. Don’t forget pumpkin seeds, which contain lecithin and zinc.
But most importantly, they are low in calories, and the pulp of the pumpkin contains vitamin T (carnitine), which significantly speeds up metabolism, helps burn fat deposits, and develop muscle mass.
