Last week, the Paris Motor Show opened its doors. One of the novelties is the refreshed Audi Q5. The model was first introduced in 2009, and when it comes to premium cars, it is logical that after a seven-year cycle, a successor comes next. Audi is known for not taking risks when it comes to design, and the Q5 is no exception. The new Q5 strongly resembles its predecessor, and at first glance, you might not even recognize that it is a completely new model.
Grown and Slimmed Down
The interior space also follows the guidelines set by the A6 and A4 models, and the most attractive part is undoubtedly the virtual instrument panel. In principle, customers clearly like this, and there is no reason for change. The new model has grown slightly (three cm), slimmed down by one centimeter, and at the same time, it is also one centimeter taller. The trunk can accommodate 550 liters of luggage, 10 more than its predecessor. The new Q5 has been on a diet program, and now it weighs 90 kilograms less than its predecessor. Engineers have worked on aerodynamics, and now the drag coefficient (cx) is just 0.30, while the predecessor had a cx of 0.33. This reduces consumption and improves performance.
